OBJECTIVE: The Cisco CCNA program prepares students for a career in computer, network, troubleshooting,
and security, with a specialization in routing and switching. This course focuses on switching technologies and
router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area
networks (WLAN) and security concepts.

Curriculum

Month 1
Get Acquainted with the Essentials of IT

This course provides a substantive overview of computer systems, including but not limited to computer hardware, operating systems, and software. Topics include the building, repair, and upgrading of personal computers and laptops, correct use of tools, selecting appropriate components, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. As a gateway to IT, this course academically prepares students for a career path in networking and acts as a prerequisite for all Cisco programs.

Month 2-3
Learning the Essentials of Cisco Networking

This module introduces students to the various tools used for learning the skills of networking/security. Cisco Networking Academy courses are designed to prepare you for Cisco Certification and other industry recognized certification exams. Cisco Certifications are highly valued by employers globally, as they demonstrate your exceptional skills, relevant to many industries, including health care, manufacturing, retail, financial, education, and more.

Month 4
Capstone

Students are required to complete a capstone project/presentation in a course area of their choosing aimed at demonstrating their comprehension of previously learned topics within the program. Capstone project must include an improved research topic and presentation which is a prerequisite for graduation.
